Manage Shop Items

To add a new item to the shop:

1. Create a new post by clicking the “Write New Post” link.
2. Anything you add to the text of the post will go as item description.
3. Set the category to whatever category (i.e. Product type) the item is going under.
4. Under Advanced Options, Custom Fields. Select ItemCode from the drop down and under “Value” set the next appropriate value for this item.

The suggested way to do this is to set item codes as the category name plus a unique number. e.g. if the category was “Books” then the ItemCode values would be books1, books2, books3 etc.

The Item codes must match the ItemCodes in RomanCart Product Manager.

5. Then add an image with same name as itemcode e.g. music2.jpg

Click near “Add Media” to upload the photo of the item.

6. Click “Publish” to create the post.

Set up your Product types by using Manage Categories. Use Add New to add a new product.

Home page content

Edit the content of the Welcome Post. Whatever is in this post will be displayed on the main area of the home page.

To feature an item’s photo on the home page simply set its category to “Featured” in addition to its main category.

Header and Footer

First change you will probably want to make to customise your shop is to change the graphic displayed at the header of every page.

Doing this is simple.

Replace headerback.jpg with whatever image you want for the header. The image should be of similar dimensions.
You will then need to FTP it to the wp-content/uploads folder. We are currently working on an easier way for you to do this. If you are having any problems we will be happy to help you out with this for no extra charge.
(headerback doesnt show up in the media library because it is in wp-content/uploads folder and media library just shows theme images.)

Next you can set the copyright message by editing the Copyright post.
